A Simple Evening Check-In for Ongoing Pain

Nightstand scene representing a simple daily symptom log

An evening symptom check-in can take less than a minute and still give you useful information to discuss at a future pain-management visit.

Use three short questions

Ask yourself: Where was the discomfort most noticeable today? Which activity was hardest? Did rest, movement, sitting, standing, or a position change seem to affect it?

Record changes, not every detail

You do not need a minute-by-minute diary. Focus on what was different from your usual pattern and whether the change affected sleep, work, walking, driving, or household tasks.

Bring the notes to your visit

A week of short entries can make it easier to describe patterns accurately instead of relying on memory alone.

Local Healthcare provides pain-management services. If ongoing pain is limiting your daily routine, contact the clinic to request an evaluation.
